Return to Ayenyah

In Community, Ghana, Holistic, Organizations for Change

Possibly the most special week in my life. After almost two years since leaving Ghana, I returned to Ayenyah to visit the students, co-workers, friends, and community members, all of whom became family to me during my two years living in Ghana. As my former students filed into the OAfrica compound, I began to cry because I was overcome by the intense love I have for them, and the profound impact they have made on my life. We celebrated, chatted, danced and drummed (yes, Rasta did convince me to put on African dress and he even attempted to teach me how to dance). Ayenyah will always be in my heart. Much love.

Shine On Sierra Leone
We believe that the changes we want to see in the world have to first begin within ourselves. We are in the learning process together, having the opportunity to grow and learn alongside those in Sierra Leone and throughout the world. Therefore we are not the teachers, we are simply the vessels the information passes through.
